Annual Christmas Concert also celebrates Aunty Janet's Birthday.
The Band played its annual Christmas Concert at the Boarshurst Band Club on Sunday evening. A packed out audience saw the band perform an excellent concert with solo's by Aimee Errocks, Alex Kershaw and our Principal Cornet, Martin Stott.
Our Band Manager, Janet Payne, known to all players as Aunty Janet, was presented with several presents for her recent birthday and as a 'thank you' for everything she does for the band.
The bands M.D. David W Ashworth presented Linda Finan with the Bandsperson of the Year award for all of her hard work, most of which she has not aspected to received recognition. Congratulation Linda and well done everyone.

30 years at Chorlton Golf Club.
The Boarshurst Silver Band played the annual Christmas Concert at the Chorlton Cum Hardy Golf Club on Saturday evening. An excellent concert with solo's by Aimee Errocks, Alex Kershaw and our Principal Cornet, Martin Stott were the highlight of the evening.

The Club President, thanked the band for the concert and highlighted the fact that it was at Christmas in 1978, that the band first agreed to play and for the last 30 years this event had taken place.
'It is hoped that we can welcome the Boarshurst Silver Band for many many more years to come.'

Boarshurst Silver Bands web site was voted the October Web Site of the Month by
The Mouthpiece.com and their surfers. Well done everyone.
That is yet another award for us this year.

CONTEST RETURN.
The band are pleased to announce that they will be returning to the contest stage next year, beginning with the Brass At The Guild Contest at Preston on 8th February 2009, then onto the North West Area Contest at Blackpool 1st March 2009. Come on Guys, lots of home practise let's try a lot harder and eventually we will succeed.

SUCCESSFUL REBUILD.
The band is pleased to announce that the rebuild of the band is coming on very well with all but 3 seats taken.
Several new members have joined including 5 ex members of the Boarshurst Youth Band.
The band have played several top class concerts over the passed 3 months and as a result confidence has increased greatly. Thanks to all for the efforts and lets look forward to the Future.

BOARSHURST BAND MOVE INTO THE 21st CENTURY
August 2008 and Boarshurst Band have launched their Web Site.
It is a modern day way to reach new and existing members of the band.
Hopefully we will move forward and utilise this new media to advance our goals.
